Creative Flooring Ltd.
145 Kisco Avenue
Mt. Kisco, New York 10549

As a small business owner I am outraged at the direction New York State is taking. We are being taxed to the hilt – making it almost impossible to survive. In most cases these taxes seem completely unfair.
I.e., The new MTA tax imposed on our small business. We have to pay a required amount for each of our employees regardless of whether or not they utilize public transportation - which in our case no one does. I don’t understand why small businesses should be forced to subsidize the MTA at all.
I.e., Our business now has to pay a filing fee of $1000.00 for our corporate taxes.

In this time of such economic turmoil, how do you expect the small business owners to survive when taxes are continually increased ? When is it time for our bail out ?

If you are elected County Executive we'll need your help to reduce our taxes – your help to survive.

Sincerely,

Susan & Rob Kraft

In response to the rash of shooting here in the City of Yonkers, I would like to know when are the parents, are going to be parents and stand up for the traditional rights of saving live(s). I mean, this is more than foolish to think that nothing can be done about this. But, yet, we can put a man on the moon. We can almost stop the cause of H.I.V., put up cameras in the streets and, strengthen police man power, but we can't stop the rash of violence perpetuated in the streets of the City. Why ??

Tom,
I've read your comments a few time and have found it both unclear and devoid of the realities of the settlement.

1. What part of the settlement limits it’s scope to simply two of the many ethnicities in Westchester? Affordable housing is designed to provide opportunities for anyone to apply and purchase homes under the regulations. This includes fire, police, school, and other workers who are essential to our community but may not be able to afford to purchase a home in the community for which they work. The school teacher who teaches your child for the majority of their school lifetime certainly can not afford based on their compensation afford to live in or even near many of the communities in Westchester County.

2. While a dialogue is always helpful many of what the County does is required by the Federal Government (ie HUD) and mandated by the State. Sometimes these mandates come with funding and other times not. However, affordable housing costs are shared by the Feds, State, and County.

3. You should step up and refrain from using childhood language such as calling your constituents "kooks".

Good luck in your election.

RE: Consumer Protection Agency that does not protect. Why do we pay taxes to keep them operating?

As a tax payer (and voter) in the city of New Rochelle, NY - District #11. I need to know why are we paying taxes, (that are already overburdening), to government offices, such as Mr. McGlinchy, Consumer Protection, Post Rd, White Plains NY - if his office can not protect the tax paying New Rochelle homeowner from bad and/or fraudulent contractors: Roofers - Rehab Assoc., etc. who are operating without being held accountable or responsible for their inferior, bad and cost cutting work? These contractors claim to have insurance liability but we can not collect from these policies, not even with the offices of the Consumer Protection, Mr. McGlincy's office. Mr. McGlinchy directs us to "find an attorney to help by suing in court". So why do we need him or his offices? Are the contractors liability insurance a payoff to our County? (I am sure it is not, but it sure seem like it.) Our homeowner insurances governed by the New York State Insurance Dept. allows carriers to charge high premiums for policies we are required to have to keep our neighborhoods safe, presentable, stable and correct for home policies that are required. As homeowners here in District #11 we are trying to also bring our homes to as great of value as possible, especially due to the economy - to try to keep wealth and competitive living in our New Rochelle Community, so why do you have offices like Mr. McGlinchy's - Consumer Protection 101 post rd white plains, NY - open collecting salaries and operating costs on our already overburden taxes - who claim they can not or will not protect us from these contractors? I need to know before election who to see immediately to asked for my tax dollars back from this office or I need an office who can regulate and keep these bad contractors from operating or forced them to operate legally and be held accountable for their work. If I have to continue to pay attorneys for help, then I need my tax dollars back for the attorney fees, who can help. Please contact me as soon as possible, before elections. Thank you
