The McLean Ave Parade is fast approaching. March 23rd is just around the corner and will hopefully be a much warmer day than today.
We are asking you to support this parade which is for the community, by the community and most importantly in the community on The Emerald Mile which is the heart of this neighborhood.
Walking down McLean Ave last year in the parade was truly one of my proudest moments of my time in the US, especially being accompanied by the largest group of children the school has ever had in a parade, they were a block long!
Attached is the journal ad and the parade letter. Our Grand Marshal is Joanie Madden.
You can also become a Friend of the Parade, for a donation of $20, and your name will be in the souvenir journal and your support will be very much appreciated.
The parade committee is very hard at work to make this a great day for us all, but we need your help, in any way you can.
I thank you for your time and look forward to celebrating on March 23rd.
So Meet me on McLean!

It is $60 plus cash bar and will sell out quickly…
It is guest list, 180 spots available. To get on the guest list bring or mail a ck to Deirdre O Mara School of Irish or Anna Artuso’s Pastry Shop. Please give the names of each person attending the dinner. Make checks payable to MAMA.
We had a great meeting last night and all sorts of plans are underway.
Despite all the parades I have marched in with my dance school I had no idea of the amount of work, expense and logistics involved in running a parade.
We are lucky that the McLean Ave Merchants are a very enthusiastic energetic bunch.
So after 3 hours in Rory Dolan’s Restaurant, Bar, & Caterers (the Killeshandra room not the bar…)
here is what I have to update you on…
The McLean Ave St Patrick’s Day parade is on Sat March 23rd rain or shine at 1pm… but start praying for shine
Mass will be held in the High School chapel of St Barnabas at 10am before the parade.
Breakfast will be held after the mass – suggested donation $5 to defray parade costs.
T shirt design is under way and we will have both women & children’s sizes this year
