Hi,

Just a brief note to say thank you to all of you who, in some capacity or another, helped me with my campaign.

In reviewing the numbers, while Alfreda won, it was simply the ratio of democrats to republicans in the district but more importantly, the district. She got the same numbers as the other democrats throughout the county, proving the democrats simplistically voted the party line not for the individual. It’s a sad commentary in that people will blindly follow a failed agenda and leadership; and second, that they would vote without an understanding of issues. Yes, she still won, but how did the district win? To quote Ed Koch when he had his radio show, and callers would suggest he run again, he would respond, “The people have spoken, and now they must suffer.”

We ran my campaign on issues and integrity. Alfreda chose to play the race card because she could discuss the issues and spoke in democratic generalities. That is exactly the disingenuous representation I insisted on going beyond. I believe I, we, did that. But the shear numbers proved too large to beat. My numbers, no matter how you cut it, proved there are smarter people seeking someone of character, intelligence and moral conviction.

In the end, I would not have done anything differently and proud of the campaign we ran.
